Discrimination Movement Student Movement

An attempted counter-coup would be crushed by mobs:

Dhaka: The coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement said that the Awami League may attempt a 'counter-coup' on August 15, saying that if anyone attempts a 'counter-coup', they will be crushed by the crowd. I urge everyone to be on the streets tomorrow.

The three coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement took part in the harmony rally organized under the banner of 'Ektar Bangladesh' at Shahbag intersection in the capital on Wednesday (August 14) afternoon.

Leaders and activists of various student organizations including nationalist student group, Islami students' camp participated in the rally.

Sarjis Alam, one of the co-ordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, said that fascists are trying to stage a counter-coup in India. What can be more ridiculous! If you dare to raise your eyes to the uprising of the students, I will crush you in the crowd of crores of people. Bangladesh has seen a new face of independence after 16 years. If anyone tries to look at that face, he will not have a place in this country.

Sarzis said, the allies of fascism must be resisted. The anti-discrimination student movement was a collective movement of all parties, creeds and castes against the fascists. If there is a single obstacle in front, it must be crushed by the crowd. We have to keep fighting.

Another coordinator, Hasnat Abdullah, said, "Those who have been holding us down for 16 years with torture and oppression, everyone should be ready to resist if they want to do any conspiracy on the soil of Bengal. On August 15th we have received information that the fascists will organize in the streets to queue. If they had any thought of coming to the streets, the students would break their legs.

Hasnat Abdullah said, in Bangladesh of communal harmony, the followers of Awami fascism are torturing minorities. The primary identity of everyone in this country is that we are all Bangladeshis. No one is a minority here. There will be no discrimination in this country.

Another coordinator, Abu Bakr Majumdar, said that the murderer Hasina was forced to leave power due to the movement of students. The allies of the fascists are still plotting. After a successful mass revolution, the followers of Awami fascism are torturing the minority brothers of the country. But we will not let their conspiracy succeed. If someone comes to plot tomorrow, we are ready to resist them.

Dhaka University Arabic department lecturer Mahadi Hasan, former student Ali Ahsan Junayed and many others spoke in the rally.

After the rally, a public procession was taken out from Shahbagh around 5:50 pm as part of the pre-announced program of the anti-discrimination student movement. The march ends at Dhanmondi 27 in front of Rapa Plaza. Later, candles are lit and prayers are offered.
